You make sure our drones don't fall out of the sky. Reliability isn't something you add at the end. It's built in by measuring, stressing, and iterating on every subsystem. You build the test infrastructure that turns "it works on the bench" into "it works after 500 landings on a 380kV line."
What you'll do
- Build and run test stands: battery cycling, water ingress, current overload, ESD
- Run indoor and outdoor flight tests, collect data, turn failures into fixes
- Close the loop with the mechanical, electrical, and software teams to drive MTBF up consistently
- Whatever is necessary, if something needs to happen, you do it
What you'll ship in the first 3 months
- An HV and EMI test rig that verifies shielding and insulation beyond field conditions
- A corrosion and environmental aging protocol covering salt, UV, humidity, and thermal cycling
- An accelerated lifetime program that projects multi-year reliability from months of data
- Root-cause reports for the top 3 field failures, with fixes landed in the next hardware revision
Your qualifications
- Hands-on experience with test automation, lab instruments, and data logging
- Comfortable writing scripts to drive test stands and analyze results
- Systems thinker: you like breaking things on purpose to understand how they fail
- Bonus: experience with drones, batteries, environmental chambers, or reliability engineering in aerospace or automotive
You don't need to tick all of these. If you're a fast learner and excited about your work, we want to talk to you.
